The weight gain continues

Jack's remarkable weight gain continues to confound the experts. He's up to 8 lbs 8 ounces and he can now dead lift 55 lbs. He's mighty.

Jack loves a good back rub.

It's getting normal

Those moments when I think to myself, "I'm a Dad? What? No, what? Really?" are coming more and more rarely. I'm really comfortable with the concept now. The frustrating thing is the 8 hours a day I can't be near Jack. When I call home, and Mojo tells me all about the smiles, coos and handstands he does in the morning when he's fully rested, I'm humbled by the strength of jealousy's grip. BUT BABY NEEDS THA' MONIES, SO DADDY'S GOTSTA WORK, YO!

Sometimes, I let him roll about and find his own comfortable perch. I've been told I should cradle his neck better than I am in this picture, but look how comfy he is!

Noises

Jack's apparently been working on developing a laugh and a smile. He does this during the day, so I won't discipline him for unnecessary jocularity (which I can't abide). When I get home, he's all cries or snores. Actually, he just farted in my hand as I type this.

His face is starting to fill out, and he's looking more and more like a real baby every day.

Packing On The Ounces

Jack was weighed in at an even 6 lbs at his doctors appointment today. He has powerful swimmers legs, and a mighty barrel chest reminiscent of the Iron Sheik.

Jack vomitted a gusher the other night, soaking my shirt and amusing my neighbours. I'm planning a revenge revolving around swiftly consumed gin.
